Alena Smallwood to compete for Miss Washington Teen USA

Alena Smallwood, 15, will compete in the Miss Washington Teen USA pageant, the pageant qualifier to go to Miss Teen USA.
This year’s pageant will showcase contestants from across Washington, and the prizes, cash, scholarships and awards will be valued at more than $900,000.
The Miss Washington Teen USA pageant is Oct. 18–19 at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien. Smallwood’s and the other contestant’s profiles can be found online at www.misswashingtonusa.com.
The public can vote for People’s Choice and Miss Photogenic online. The most online votes for the People’s Choice will automatically make the semi-finals of the pageant.
The teen titleholder will go on to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA.
Smallwood attends Issaquah High School. She plans to attend a four-year university upon graduation to study business and design, as she aspires to work in the fashion industry. Smallwood is an avid supporter for teenagers experiencing depression and anxiety, and is involved in establishing social networking resources for the support of this cause. She enjoys volleyball, guitar and singing.
