Recipe for Hope cooks up community support

Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank raised more than $75,000 in its Recipe for Hope fundraiser Oct. 17.

James Whitfield, CEO of Leadership Eastside, was the keynote speaker, while State Sen. Mark Mullet emceed the event at Eastridge Church.

Funds raised at the Recipe for Hope Breakfast will support current efforts to provide healthy food options to clients, and build services and programs that enrich lives, including the Summer Lunch Program and Tools for Schools.

The food bank’s service areas are the same as the Issaquah School District’s, and assists residents in Issaquah, Sammamish, Renton, Preston, Newcastle and Bellevue.
