Sammamish resident honored for invention

Ian Wilson, of Sammamish, received The Boeing Co.’s 2013 Special Invention Award for his data capture and organization systems, which are used in Boeing’s engineering and business operations.

Each year, the award is given to teams and individuals for the inventions that are most valuable to Boeing and the future of aerospace.

Wilson, 50, received his doctorate in marketing and artificial intelligence from the University of Toronto in 1991, and has worked at Boeing for 14 years.

Kiwanis installs new officers

The Kiwanis Club of Providence Point recently installed new officers and welcomed new members.

The new officers were president Barbara Cheatham, secretary John Gorow, treasurer Karl Plantinga, and immediate past president Marjorie McClung.
