A salute to veterans

By Greg Farrar The Liberty High School Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Honor Guard fires a 21-gun salute at the Issaquah Senior Center for the local Veterans Day observance. Area veterans in attendance were recognized by the audience, the VFW Carl Albert Larson post announced the annual gift of 10 flags to the city, the poem ‘A Veteran Died Today’ was recited by Marilyn Batura, and veteran Chad Magendanz, 5th District House representative, shared a brief speech recalling the personal sacrifices made for democracy from the Revolutionary War to the present day.
