A car collision took the life of a 90-year-old Issaquah resident Nov. 6.

John Bradley died in the crash on Issaquah-Hobart Road, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Public Information Officer Cindi West said Bradley’s car collided with a large dump truck at about 2:48 p.m. and he died at the scene. She said it appeared one of the vehicles might have crossed the center line.

“Witnesses said they saw the car swerving into the center line,” West said. “The truck went over to the shoulder to try to avoid the car, and the car hit the trailer part of the truck.”

West said there were no indications of drugs or alcohol at the scene. Authorities have sent away for a toxicology report. The King County Medical Examiner’s office said the cause of death was blunt force trauma caused by the accident.

Issaquah-Hobart Road was closed for over three hours between Southeast May Valley Road and Southeast Tiger Mountain Road for an investigation.

My sincere condolences to the Bradley family for their tragic loss.

Issaquah Hobart was closed down at least 5 hours and possibly 6 hours. Little to no help or information was provided by the King County Sherrif Office to folks trying to get home after work about detours/alternate routing or even how long to expect this key arterial (used by thousands of area residents) to be closed.
