Celebrate Grand Ridge Plaza opening with Pro Football Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy, Seahawks Blue Thunder, Blitz and Sea Gals in Issaquah Highlands this weekend

NEW — 6 a.m. Nov. 16, 2013

See Pro Football Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy, Seahawks Blue Thunder, Blitz and the Sea Gals during grand opening events of Grand Ridge Plaza in the Issaquah Highlands today.

The schedule for today is:

11 a.m. — Seattle Sea Gals, the Seattle Seahawks cheerleaders, host an autograph signing.

Noon — Seahawks Blue Thunder drum line will perform as Blitz, the team’s official mascot, greets families.

1-3 p.m. — Pro Football Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy, who played his entire 11-season career with the Seahawks, will be on site to meet fans and sign autographs. Free color photos will be given to the first 300 fans.

A drawing to award a signed NFL football from the Seattle Seahawks will also be held.

There are events Sunday as well:

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Family fun and entertainment with performances throughout Grand Ridge Plaza will include jugglers, musicians and balloon artists.

Driving directions from Interstate 90: Take the Highlands Drive/Sunset Interchange (Exit 18). Follow Highlands Drive up the hill and turn right on Northeast High Street.

Driving directions from Downtown Issaquah: Drive east on East Sunset Way; after crossing I-90, East Sunset Way becomes Highlands Drive. Turn right onto Northeast High Street.

On-site and street parking available; additional parking is available at the park & ride.
