The Squak Valley Players invite the entire community to Issaquah Middle School’s latest production, “Under the Hulder’s Spell.”

Performances are at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23, and 2 p.m. Nov. 23. The school is at 400 Second Ave. S.E.

Written by Kate Swenson and directed by Zoe Wilson, from Youth Theatre Northwest, the story revolves around a little girl named Merry, who is stolen by the faeries on a Midsummer’s Eve long ago. Her siblings, Melancholy and Mischief, must travel to the mysterious world of Den Hulder to win her back.

Den Hulder is occupied by enchanted creatures, magical beasts and spell-casters, known collectively as hulders. With the acerbic Blue Faerie as their guide and trickery at every turn, the sisters will be put to the test.

Each must complete an impossible task before the sun rises. If they win, they bring little Merry home. If they fail, they will be trapped in Den Hulder until Midsummer returns again.

General admission is $5. Tickets will be sold at the door.
