Back by popular demand, the Issaquah Drug Free Community Coalition is again sponsoring its “Influence the Choice” video contest.

Issaquah School District students in sixth through 12th grades are invited to create video commercials (up to two minutes) that positively influence their friends to resist alcohol, marijuana and prescription drug temptations.

The deadline for submission is Feb. 28.

There will be cash prizes for first, second and third place in three sub-categories, as well as a grand-prize winner. The videos will be shown on municipal TV stations and school news shows. All participants will be invited to a viewing party at the Issaquah High School Performing Arts Theatre in April.

Last year, 150 students got involved.
