IHOP restaurants are offering diners a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day, March 4.

The ninth annual fundraiser returns after having raised more than $13 million for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospitals for Children and other local charities.

More than 1,500 IHOP restaurants in the United States will participate this year, including for the first time locations in Canada and Puerto Rico. The Issaquah restaurant is at 1433 N.W. Sammamish Road.

Between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., diners can enjoy the free pancakes. In exchange, they are encouraged to leave a voluntary donation to the participating charities.

The IHOP restaurants will also sell “Miracle Balloons” for $1 and $5, each to benefit local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, between now and March 4. The icon balloons will be displayed throughout the restaurant. Diners who purchase a $5 Miracle Balloon will receive a $5 off coupon that can be used during their next visit.
