Issaquah native Annie Cheng fell short in her quest to become Jauntaroo.com’s chief world explorer.

Cheng was one of five finalists competing to earn a chance to travel around the world and blog about the adventure for the website.

The honor ultimately went to Tyson Mayr, a worthy choice, Cheng said.

“I can honestly say that after spending three fun-filled days with Tyson, he is the man for the job,” she wrote in an email. “He will make us all proud, and I know he’ll do great things for Jauntaroo, and for this world.”

Cheng said the experience has inspired her to continue blogging about her own personal adventures, encouraging others to do the same along the way.
