A big first-half deficit proved too much for the Issaquah High School girls basketball team to overcome, and it ended the Eagles’ season Feb. 18.

Issaquah trailed 12-1 after one quarter, 29-10 at halftime, and a 24-point fourth quarter wasn’t enough as the Eagles lost to the Eastlake Wolves, 53-48, in the Class 4A KingCo Conference girls basketball tournament at Juanita High School in Kirkland.

Down 40-24 after three quarters, the Eagles (14-9 overall) kicked their offense into high gear and outscored the Wolves (17-5) 24-13 down the stretch.

Senior guard Mandie Hill led Issaquah with 12 points, and Lauren Longo chipped in 11. Eastlake’s Lauren Mittenthal paced all scorers with 13 points.
