Liberty girls advance to basketball regionals

February 25, 2014

By Staff

The Liberty High School girls basketball team isn’t ready to head home just yet.

The Patriots’ season will continue after a Feb. 22 double-overtime win against Holy Names earned them a spot in the 16-team regional tournament.

In what will be a rematch, Liberty will face top-ranked Cleveland in a winner-to-state, loser-out game at 8 p.m. March 1 at Bellevue College.

Liberty lost to Cleveland, the state’s top 3A team, 70-28, in the district tournament Feb. 18.
