How does your homework load affect your life outside of school?

“The workload I get from school is completely manageable for me. … My problem is with procrastination.” Ian Paige, junior

“I try to plan ahead to make sure I stay on task and finish all my homework on time, but there are still times when I find myself doing homework on the way to places.” Sandra Mata Diaz, junior

“Homework is as big a challenge for teachers as it is for students. Everything students have to do once, teachers have to grade 160 or so times.” Lisa Sibbett, world studies teacher

“As a student, I think that my current homework load is manageable. At times, especially the nights before a quiz or test, homework can be added stress. “ Cassidy Crickmore, senior

“… students need to consider academic load when taking on extracurricular activities. If they are choosing a rigorous academic course load, they’ll need to limit themselves to a reasonable number of outside activities for a good balance.” Elizabeth Lund, IB English teacher

“… a heavy homework load reduces the number of hours I can sleep, which ultimately decreases school and sports performance … a light homework load … allows me to do other recreational activities other than just doing homework.” Annette Guo, sophomore
