City’s free film series returns Saturday with ‘Elephant Walk’

The city of Issaquah’s free Second Saturday Film Series returns March 8 with a showing of the 1954 movie “Elephant Walk,” starring Elizabeth Taylor.

The movie tells the story of colonial tea planter John Wiley, who, upon visiting England at the end of World War II, wins and weds lovely English rose Ruth and takes her home to Elephant Walk, Ceylon, where the local elephants have a grudge against the plantation.

The film also stars Dana Andrews and Peter Finch.

The free movies, presented with support from the Issaquah Arts Commission and 4Culture, are shown in the Eagle Room at City Hall, 130 E. Sunset Way. Screenings start at 7 p.m.

The next movie, “Murder Most Foul,” will be shown April 12.
