Corinne DeRosa, Issaquah Middle School’s principal since 2004, will leave at the end of the 2013-14 school year to take a central administrative position with the Issaquah School District.

DeRosa has been at Issaquah Middle School since 2001, when she was the assistant principal under then-Principal Ron Thiele, now the Issaquah superintendent.

DeRosa’s new position, starting in the 2014-15 school year, will be director of school improvement in the district’s teaching and learning services department.

DeRosa announced her plans April 24 in an email to Issaquah Middle School families.

“IMS has been such a significant part of my life that this has been a very difficult decision to make,” she wrote. “Bittersweet is the word that comes to mind. However, I am very excited to take on a new challenge and quite honored to be given this new opportunity.”

Assistant Principal Lisa Scott Truemper has also resigned in order to pursue the final year of her doctoral program and complete her administrative credentials.
