The Issaquah Community Network is seeking youth representatives for the 2014-15 school year.

The deadline for applications is June 20. Interviews with applicants will be conducted over the summer and representatives announced in late August.

The Issaquah Community Network operates within the Issaquah School District boundaries to reduce adverse childhood experiences and risky behaviors in youths ages 12-20.

The network has focused its work in recent years on youth suicide prevention, reducing youth substance abuse, reducing youth homelessness and other issues related to poverty and need, reducing school bullying and harassment, and reducing barriers to employment for youths with disabilities.

Applicants should be ages 12-18 and reside within the Issaquah School District boundaries. Private school and home-schooled students are welcome to apply.

Email Barbara de Michele, issaquahcommunitynetwork@mindspring.com, explaining why you would be interested in becoming involved with Issaquah Community Network and what qualities you would bring to the organization.

The network meets from 5:30-7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Hailstone Feed Store, 232 Front St. N. Youth representatives are required to attend a minimum of four meetings during the school year, and may participate in additional sub-committee work.
