Mother’s Brunch

Thanks to all who helped put on special event

Christina Corrales-Toy truly captured the feeling of Life Enrichment Options’ second annual Mother’s Brunch — the feeling of comfort and acceptance that many families with children with special needs don’t always feel — in her recent story on the event.

This event, celebrating the moms of children with developmental disabilities and all that they do, is a particularly appropriate event for LEO and the Tavon Center to collaborate on as both local organizations were started by moms of children with special needs.

Special thanks go to the Tavon Center for sending a representative from its organization, along with all the supplies needed for the hands-on activity for the kids, even though this event fell on the same day as Tavon’s yearly auction. And a special thank you needs to go to Tim Scallon for providing his beautiful music at the event.

Our most sincere thanks to Swedish/Issaquah for their sponsorship of this year’s event. They provided a wonderful brunch, volunteers and a welcoming attitude that made the event very special. And their generous sponsorship allowed for so many more families to be able to enjoy this annual event in the comfortable company of other families living with similar challenges.

The Issaquah Press is to be congratulated on not only its sponsorship of this event, but of its continuing support of the work that LEO does to support the most vulnerable citizens in our community. This event was a wonderful example of how supportive the Issaquah/Sammamish community is to those with developmental disabilities and their families.
