Photos by Greg Farrar The Sunset Elementary School second-grade class (above) of Vicki Bergstrom walks around on a giant National Geographic map of North America looking for islands, lakes, peninsulas, gulfs and oceans June 4 during a stop on the Geographic Society’s Giant Traveling Maps program. The 35-by-26-foot map was spread out on the gym floor and gave students a chance to learn geography in an interactive way. Students take their shoes off (below) to walk on the map.
