Reflection — Thanks to everyone for support

It’s hard to believe my first year on The Beat is coming to an end.
I have had the privilege of meeting and working with talented, determined and dedicated young writers who have inspired and taught me so much. As the youngest member of the team, I’ve enjoyed my quiet niche as I learned the ropes from my seniors.
I’ll be back next year, this time around as the editor. As the editor, I will aim to get online articles up consistently and increase team meeting attendance.
It feels incredibly to be part of such an amazing youth group. The primary challenge we face is to effectively represent the voice of teens in a creative manner that also appeals to the adult readership of The Issaquah Press.
We tackle and overcome this difficult task with ferocity rarely rivaled by our peers. I am extremely impressed and proud of my fellow authors for continually writing with such eloquence and energy.
Writing for The Beat has given me a sense of accomplishment and pride equaled by few other pastimes. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has read our articles, commented on or complimented them, funded the publishing of our page, inspired an article or allowed me to interview you for Teen Talk. Without your support, I wouldn’t have grown so much this year.
I am looking forward to reuniting with returning members and meeting our new writers in the fall. Until then, have a safe and enjoyable summer!
