King County has credited a number of local organizations for commitment to sustainability.

Rowley Properties Inc., Outsource Marketing, PCC Natural Markets, Cartridge World, the Issaquah School District and the city of Issaquah were named Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling.

In its eighth year of giving out the recognition, the King County Solid Waste Division continues to look for local companies for adopting business practices that reduce waste and increase recycling.

King County placed 97 names on this year’s list after evaluating each organization’s efforts toward sustainability. A news release said it was the highest number of organizations listed since the program began in 2007.
