Carrie Orrico, owner of Big Fish Grill, presented a $1,000 check to Katie Fath, of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation, July 11.

The money was raised from a wine-tasting event held in the private dining room at The Big Fish Grill in Issaquah on June 24.

The event featured John Bigelow, of JM Cellars in Woodinville. Bigelow presented a select group of his wines to 28 attendees and shared stories about how he entered the wine business, the current wine culture and growing grapes in the state of Washington.

Orrico and her family hold a special place for Seattle Children’s. Her daughter Becca, who passed away from leukemia in 2001 at age 10, was treated at the hospital for more than seven years.

Big Fish Grill is family-owned and operated by Orrico and her children. It has three locations in Issaquah, Woodinville and Kirkland.
