Liberty graduate helps produce CWU play

Rachel Culbertson, a 2013 graduate of Liberty High School, will be the assistant stage manager for Central Washington University’s Central Theatre production of “Polaroid Stories.”

Culbertson is a freshman in the Bachelor of Fine Arts-design and production program.

-Mariah Kliegl, of Issaquah, was named to the president’s list at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, for fall term 2013.

Kyle Weber gets WSU scholarship

December 31, 2013

Kyle Weber, son of Tina and Paul Weber, of Issaquah, has received a $1,000 Mechanical and Materials Engineering Scholarship at Washington State University.

Weber graduated from Issaquah High School in 2010 and plans to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in December 2014.

Andi Scarcello gets scholarship

Andria Scarcello, of Issaquah, has received the Mary Carr Endowed Scholarship at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, leadership and personal merit.

Scarcello, a 2013 graduate of Skyline High School, is a freshman at Denison and is expected to graduate in 2017.

Local grad earns Biola University scholarship

Biola University freshman Austin Quamme, of Issaquah, was among 53 students who received the college’s highest scholarship — the Trustee’s scholarship — for the 2013-14 academic year.

Freshmen are eligible for the $12,000 Trustee’s scholarship if upon entering the university, they meet the requirements of grade point average of at least 3.5 and a combined SAT score of 1430 in math and English scores. About 4 percent of this year’s incoming class received this award.

Emily Adams completes summer internship

Emily Adams, of Issaquah, participated in a summer internship with The Beat Within in San Francisco.

The program provides writing workshops to incarcerated teenagers and publishes their writings in a biweekly magazine.
