Local students graduate
- Lyndon Kidwell of Renton, graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology, in Rolla, Mo., during commencement ceremonies held Dec. 14, 2012. Kidwell earned a Master of Science degree in systems engineering.
- Kelle Agassiz, a 2009 graduate of Issaquah High School, graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in communications in December 2012. She was also named to the fall 2012 semester dean’s list. To qualify, students must complete 12 or more credits and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Michael Lahey, of Issaquah, was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Local students make UW dean’s list
The following Issaquah students were named to the dean’s list at the University of Washington for the 2012 summer quarter:
Emoniel Isakharov, Simerjot Singh, Fablina Sharara, Dexter Hu, Andres Orams, Akumbom Tunyi, Brendan Smith, Cortney Schirman, Brittany Guilbert, Joseph Sturtevant, Lindsay Gardner, Jordan Nugent, Blake Johnston, Steven Lau, Kevin Nguyen, Dawn Cheung, Lynda Ochs, Stephanie Wang, Eric Parker, Christine Quach, Vincent Quach and Keiji Hiramoto Jr.
To qualify, students must have completed at least 12 graded credits and have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (out of 4).

Issaquah student earns scholarship at UCSD
Kyle Bichich, of Issaquah, has received a $1,500 Jennifer Odom/David Kammerer Memorial Scholarship from the American Water Ski Educational Scholarship and Financial Aid Committee.
Bichich, a junior at the University of California, San Diego, majoring in structural engineering, is a barefoot competitor at the regional level, having volunteered at the Barefoot Water Ski World Championships, as well as the regionals and nationals.

Liberty grad is Harvard College Scholar
Jay Chakravarty, the 2011 valedictorian of Liberty High School and a student at Harvard University, has been designated a Harvard College Scholar.
Students of the sophomore, junior and senior classes in the top 10 percent of their respective classes are designated Harvard College Scholars.

Student graduates from Gonzaga
Chelsea Stone, of Sammamish, recently graduated from Gonzaga University with a biology degree.
This fall, Stone will pursue a master’s degree in public health from Drexel University, in Philadelphia. The Issaquah High School graduate is the daughter John Stone and Patti Enos, of Sammamish.

Amy Winter voted UW inspirational graduate
Amy Winter, daughter of Robert and Susan Schlilaty, of Issaquah, graduated with a degree in dentistry from the University of Washington in a ceremony at the Meany Hall Theatre on the University of Washington campus in June 2012.

Local student makes SLU honor roll
Stephen Connelly, of Issaquah, was recently named to the spring 2012 semester honor roll at Southeastern Louisiana University, in Hammond, La.
To qualify, students must earn a 3 to 3.19 grade point average.

Local students honored
Emma O’Melia, of Issaquah, has been named to the spring 2012 second honors dean’s list at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. To be eligible students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79, of a maximum of 4.3.
Collin Morris, of Issaquah, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Linfield College, in McMinnville, Ore. To qualify, students must complete 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
