Hit and run
A Sammamish man was driving south on 228th Avenue Southeast when another car ran a red light at Issaquah-Pine Lake Road at 9:12 p.m. Feb. 15. As a result, the man struck the car that ran the light, and it then sped away. The man followed long enough to get the license plate number.
A couple in the 20000 block of Southeast 27th Place reported someone came into their home through an unlocked door between 9 and 11:50 a.m. Feb. 15. The couple said they were missing a phone, laptop, loose change and jewelry worth at least $1,850.

A pair of Skyline High School students were expelled after they planted prescription pills in the backpack of a third girl Jan. 30 in order to get her in trouble. The pair hid the pills during lunch, and then told school administrators they suspected the girl had pills. Administrators searched the girl’s backpack and found the pills. The girl was surprised and swore they weren’t hers. An officer believed the girl and then checked security cameras, which show the two girls approaching the backpack and stashing something in it. When confronted, one of the girls admitted involvement, though the other denied she had anything to do with it. Discipline will be handled at the school and family level from this point on.
A young man fired from his job at a local business on East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast returned to the business seeking his last paycheck at 3 p.m. Feb. 5. His employer told him the check was likely in the mail. He tried to force his way in and caused a disturbance. Police responded and told him he was not permitted to return to the business for a year, and if he did so, he would be subject to arrest.

Here come the locks
A man in the 2100 block of East Beaver Lake Drive Southeast reported someone had taken the mail from a mailbox tree of four mailboxes between Jan. 28 and 29. Two of the four people had retrieved mail, but two were missing items. The man said the neighbors would now be getting locking mailboxes.
A woman was following her ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend in the area of the 1700 block of 254th place Southeast. The man has been with the new girlfriend for about six months and had dated the old girlfriend for 12 years. Police told the ex that she can’t keep following the couple, and advised the man to get an anti-harassment order.

A woman in the 2000 block of 228th Avenue Southeast reported she believes her neighbors have been coming to her house and taking things. She said since 2011, there have been several instances of this happening, such as one time when a pair of pruning shears was missing and replaced with an older pair, or a thumb drive was missing. This time, she said she was missing some coins and a pawn slip. She said the neighbors have a key to her house. She recently changed the locks, so police advised her to wait and see if that clears up the situation.

Officers made contact with a subject Jan. 8 in the 700 block of Northeast Blakely Drive. The man stated he was homeless and somehow it appeared that his human waste deposit bucket and bags emptied in the parking lot. Eastside Fire & Rescue responded and used their water hoses to dispose of the waste.
A woman reported someone took her wallet from her purse while she was shopping at the Pine Lake QFC at about 1 p.m. Jan. 9.

Not quite William Tell
A Sammamish man reported an arrow had been launched through the rear window of his home in the 2800 bock of 247th Avenue Southeast at 4:19 p.m. Jan. 3. The officer found the arrow next to the window, which had one broken pane. The homeowner said he did not want to pursue criminal charges, only to make sure it did not happen again. The officer checked the area and found nothing. Later, a young man called police to admit he had shot the arrow. He thought it was stuck in a tree, which the officer thought was plausible, noting the vegetation in the area. The officer facilitated the exchange of contact information between the two parties.
A 1987 Honda Accord was reported stolen Jan. 4 in the 1100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. The report estimated the total at $900.

A woman called to report some packages had gone missing from her front porch in the 19700 block of Southeast 24th Way between 3 and 3:40 p.m. Dec. 20. A UPS driver had dropped the packages off and the woman’s husband, who was home, saw them. He was unable to retrieve the packages for a while, and by the time he could, they were missing. Inside were board games and a shirt worth $160.
More missing packages
A woman in the 2900 block of 218th Avenue Southeast had some packages delivered at about 3:20 p.m. Dec. 20. She was working and unable to retrieve them. When she went to do so at about 4 p.m., they were gone. The packages contained dog food, beauty supplies and other goods worth about $110.

Minor in possession
Between 8:40 and 9:08 p.m. Dec. 13, police responded to a report of two teens in a car parked in the 1700 block of 211th Avenue Southeast. The caller said the windows were tinted, but they could see the flickering of a light inside the car. When an officer arrived, he found the teens and noticed the smell of marijuana. The male and female produced a grinder with marijuana residue in it. The teens locked the vehicle and walked to one of their houses. The officer took the grinder for evidence.
A man came to the Sammamish Police offices to report a missing tablet computer. On Dec. 4, he was witness to a suicide at his residence. Between then and Dec. 10, his tablet went missing. He was told his apartment manager had someone come in to clean the apartment. The cleaners were the only people with access to the apartment for a span of three days. The apartment manager suggested the man file a police report about the computer, worth an estimated $525.
Someone threw about six eggs at a home in the 19300 block of Southeast 21st Street overnight Dec. 7. The homeowner reported hearing a thumping noise at about 11:30 p.m., but did not go to investigate. She said her house, and her daughter’s friend’s house, had also been egged over the Thanksgiving holiday. Another home, in the 27100 block off Southeast 27th Street, was egged at about the same time.

Driving the red-eye
At 3:17 a.m. Dec. 1, a police officer pulled over a vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection of Southeast 20th Street and 118th Avenue Southeast. The officer could smell marijuana. The driver consented to having his blood drawn. Police are waiting for test results before forwarding the case information to prosecutors.
Police noticed a vehicle sitting near the intersection of Southeast 13th Way and 227th Avenue Southeast for some time. On Dec. 6, the officer ran the vehicle’s plates and found they’d expired in May. There was debris around the vehicle and the pavement under it was a different color. The officer had the car impounded.

Take my car… please
A man reported his car was stolen overnight Nov. 25 from the 100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. Officers took the report and the car was listed as stolen. Shortly after, police received a call indicating his wife had taken the car home.
A student at Pine Lake Middle School reported someone had taken his iPod from his locker Nov. 26. No one turned it into lost and found.
Someone smashed a window and broke into a house in the 1000 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast between 7:55 and 11:20 a.m. Nov. 27. They took about $80,000 worth of jewelry and $50,000 in cash.
