A woman called to report some packages had gone missing from her front porch in the 19700 block of Southeast 24th Way between 3 and 3:40 p.m. Dec. 20. A UPS driver had dropped the packages off and the woman’s husband, who was home, saw them. He was unable to retrieve the packages for a while, and by the time he could, they were missing. Inside were board games and a shirt worth $160.
More missing packages
A woman in the 2900 block of 218th Avenue Southeast had some packages delivered at about 3:20 p.m. Dec. 20. She was working and unable to retrieve them. When she went to do so at about 4 p.m., they were gone. The packages contained dog food, beauty supplies and other goods worth about $110.

Minor in possession
Between 8:40 and 9:08 p.m. Dec. 13, police responded to a report of two teens in a car parked in the 1700 block of 211th Avenue Southeast. The caller said the windows were tinted, but they could see the flickering of a light inside the car. When an officer arrived, he found the teens and noticed the smell of marijuana. The male and female produced a grinder with marijuana residue in it. The teens locked the vehicle and walked to one of their houses. The officer took the grinder for evidence.
A man came to the Sammamish Police offices to report a missing tablet computer. On Dec. 4, he was witness to a suicide at his residence. Between then and Dec. 10, his tablet went missing. He was told his apartment manager had someone come in to clean the apartment. The cleaners were the only people with access to the apartment for a span of three days. The apartment manager suggested the man file a police report about the computer, worth an estimated $525.
Someone threw about six eggs at a home in the 19300 block of Southeast 21st Street overnight Dec. 7. The homeowner reported hearing a thumping noise at about 11:30 p.m., but did not go to investigate. She said her house, and her daughter’s friend’s house, had also been egged over the Thanksgiving holiday. Another home, in the 27100 block off Southeast 27th Street, was egged at about the same time.

Driving the red-eye
At 3:17 a.m. Dec. 1, a police officer pulled over a vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection of Southeast 20th Street and 118th Avenue Southeast. The officer could smell marijuana. The driver consented to having his blood drawn. Police are waiting for test results before forwarding the case information to prosecutors.
Police noticed a vehicle sitting near the intersection of Southeast 13th Way and 227th Avenue Southeast for some time. On Dec. 6, the officer ran the vehicle’s plates and found they’d expired in May. There was debris around the vehicle and the pavement under it was a different color. The officer had the car impounded.

Take my car… please
A man reported his car was stolen overnight Nov. 25 from the 100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. Officers took the report and the car was listed as stolen. Shortly after, police received a call indicating his wife had taken the car home.
A student at Pine Lake Middle School reported someone had taken his iPod from his locker Nov. 26. No one turned it into lost and found.
Someone smashed a window and broke into a house in the 1000 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast between 7:55 and 11:20 a.m. Nov. 27. They took about $80,000 worth of jewelry and $50,000 in cash.

We’ll always have Paris
A man received two phone calls Nov. 21 from who he believed to be an adult male telling him he wanted to take him to dinner and then to Paris. It was determined to be a joke played by a cousin.
Beats online dating
Police responded to a report from Eastside Kickboxing on Nov. 21 in the 1100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard to investigate a suspicious subject. Officers spoke with a staff member who reported a white male entered the business and was watching the female clients work out. He was asked to leave and complied, then said he would return.

A 1990 red Nissan SX240 was reported stolen Nov. 11 in the 1700 block of 10th Avenue Northeast. The loss was estimated at $2,000.
Police received a report of stolen jewelry Nov. 12 in the 3700 block of Providence Point Drive Southeast. The loss was reported at $1,500.
Police received a report of a hearing aid, valued at $1,000, stolen from a 1993 Toyota pickup Nov. 12 in the 900 block of Northeast High Street.

A bad sign
A woman had questions for the police Nov. 7 in the 600 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard about a company she hired to fix a sign for her business. She stated that she can’t reach them and she needs her sign. She stated that she has a contract for the work performed.
A pocketbook was reported stolen Nov. 9 in the 1000 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. The estimated loss was $1,599.

Sleeping it off
A police officer contacted a man asleep in his car in the 21700 block of Southeast Eighth Street at 9:21 a.m. Nov. 1. The man said he had smoked marijuana the night before and didn’t think it was safe to drive, so he’d slept in the car. The officer advised him that sleeping in the car disturbs local residents, and warned him of the dangers of driving under the influence.
At about 12:18 a.m. Nov. 1, a police officer using radar determined a car was going 70 mph in a 25 mph zone. The driver slowed down but continued to drive away, and ran a stop sign before eventually pulling into a random driveway on East Main Street. After the officer contacted the driver, he found he had an invalid driver’s license.

Someone broke into a car parked in front of a home on the 100 block of 242nd Avenue Southeast overnight between Oct. 25 and 26. The owner reported that a $50 gift card was taken, along with $375 worth of movie tickets to the Pasco/Moses Lake Fairchild Movie Theater.
It’s scarier if you’re drunk
Police arrested a 19-year old man at 10:14 p.m. Oct. 18 at Nightmare at Beaver Lake. Security from the event had called police when the man appeared drunk. The officer noted he could not stand under his own power and smelled of intoxicants. He was taken into custody and released to his sister. Police recommend charging him for being under 21 and exhibiting the effects of alcohol.

A person called police when they noticed a group of suspicious males and females loitering for 10 minutes within a store in the 6300 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast on Oct. 18. The person believed the group may be getting ready to steal something. He described them as being “European.” Upon arrival, the subjects left the scene in an unknown direction.
Vehicle break in
A 2012 Honda Pilot was broken into on Oct. 18 in the 2000 block of Newport Way Northwest. A computer, bag and cables worth an estimated $2,500 were reported missing.
