Rod passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his wife and family on Sept. 6 after a lengthy struggle with lung and heart disease.

He was born and raised in Vale, Oregon and was a founder of Marenakos Rock Center, from which he retired in 1996.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. at the Raging River Community Church (formerly Preston Baptist Church) in Preston.

Joyce was born Nov. 21, 1919, at home in the International Settlement of Shanghai, China, to British born parents, Capt. Edgar Bruce Green and Bertha Victoria Dobinson Bruce Green. Joyce grew up in two port cities, Shanghai and Tientsin, China. She attended Shanghai Public School and St. Joseph High School in Tientsin, China.

She was a loving wife and mother, devoted grandmother, favorite aunt, friend and volunteer to numerous community organizations.

Betty was born on July 28, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from W.C. Mepham High School in the class of 1947. She attended St. Lawrence University for two years as an English major before transferring to Columbia University to fulfill her life’s dream of becoming a nurse. In 1952, she received her Bachelor of Science and nursing certification.

He is survived by his five children, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and was loved by all who knew him.

Marilynne was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Stamford, Texas, the daughter of Samuel and Marthlyn Spears. She was raised in Villa Park, Illinois, and Livonia, Michigan. She graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia. In 1957, she married Richard Clark. They had two children, Sherilyn and Steven.

Marilynne had a keen eye for design and was always up-to-date on the latest trends and fashion. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading and gardening. She also knitted blankets for Seattle Children’s Hospital and volunteered at Overlake Hospital.

David George Briggs, of Redmond, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 26, 2014.

He was 71 years of age and was born July 3, 1943, in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, the son of George and Georgia Briggs. He was raised in New Braintree, Massachusetts, and attended school there.

His undergraduate work was accomplished at the University of Massachusetts followed by a master’s at Yale and a doctorate at the University of Washington.

Born in Long Beach, Calif., in 1958, the former Issaquah resident moved to Bellevue in 1997 when she met her husband Tim Meagher.

She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Tim; two children, Carrie and Patrick; and an extended family.
