Mary Jeanne Revell, of Redmond, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. She was 93 years of age.

Mrs. Revell was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Blanche Arnold. She was raised in the area of Gilroy, Calif., and graduated from Gilroy High School. She also attended various college classes in the San Francisco area, for furthering her career and related to her strong interest and talents in music.

Dave passed away Feb. 4, 2013 doing what he loved, skiing on Crystal Mountain.

His start in life began Sept. 27, 1955 in West Bend, Wis., with his birth to Florence and John Shallow. He went to Holy Angels grade school and graduated from West Bend West High in 1974. His college days were within the University of Wisconsin system, graduating in June 1980 from Madison, Wis., with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.

Following his graduation, Dave accepted a job at The Boeing Co. and moved to Seattle to begin his career in various aerospace programs. He spent his first years in several defense programs before finding a home in the Sea Launch program working, as he was fond to characterize, as a “rocket scientist.” His analytical skills demystifying the dynamic performance for the launch of customer satellites was a valuable skill he displayed effortlessly.

Edwin M. Smithers, of Sammamish, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at home. He was 87.

Ed was born May 13, 1925, in Kalispell, Mont. He was raised in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1943. Following high school, Ed entered the United States Navy and served in World War II. After the war, he began his tenure with the United States Coast Guard.

On July 13, 1945, Ed married Joan Alicia Bondeson in Kalispell. His service in the Coast Guard had them living in many parts of the country. In 1972, they settled in Sammamish, and in 1974, he retired from the Coast Guard as a lieutenant commander. After retiring from the Coast Guard, Ed held several other jobs, one of which was working on Jetfoil production at The Boeing Co.

Maureen Cleo LeFevre, of Sammamish, died Jan. 29, 2013. She was 61 years old.

Maureen was born Sept. 10, 1951 in Seattle, the daughter of John Murray and Marilyn Besanceney. She was raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, and attended West High School in Anchorage, Alaska. While in Anchorage, she married Chuck LeFevre on May 11, 1985. In 1986, she moved to Sammamish. For the past seven years, she was also a part-time resident of Phoenix, Ariz.

During her life, Maureen worked in the banking industry for more than 20 years. In her spare time, she was an avid gardener, a talented decorator, a playful grammy, and put her energy into holidays, family time, experimenting with new recipes and volunteering.

Neoma Farrington, loving mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 26, 2013.

Neoma, 102 years old, was born Sept. 25, 1910, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, to Daniel Grubb and Fannie O’Dell Grubb, from Iowa. In 1913, her family moved from Iowa to Wenatchee, and she graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1929. She was married to Arthur Park Farrington on July 17, 1929. In 1941, she moved with her family to Issaquah, where she lived until moving back to Wenatchee in 1975, following her husband’s retirement.

Neoma continued living in Wenatchee until moving back to Issaquah in 2003 to be closer to her family. In 2012, she moved to assisted living in Newcastle, where she was living at the time of her passing. During the time she lived in Issaquah, she was a member of the Community Baptist Church and served as president of the Women’s Mission Society as well as president of the Seattle Area Baptist Women’s Mission Society. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening, sewing and crafts.

Clinton W. Platter (Oct. 1, 1923 — Jan. 31, 2013), brave World War II veteran, is survived by his excellent family: wife Valentina, daughter Nina, two sons, Paul and Steve, his son’s spouses Laurie, Dianne and Paula, as well as eight brilliant grandchildren.

He lived long and loved the Lord. He often reminisced with stories of his days in the war. He smiled often and now smiles on the face of Jesus.

Ardys Corra, age 85, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Issaquah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Ardys was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Rake, Iowa, and moved to Seattle, becoming a beautician shortly after graduating high school. Ardys met her husband Bob in Issaquah in May 1948. The two got married a few months later, on New Year’s Eve, and just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.

Ardys then decided to stop working and dedicate her time to raising her four boys. Ardys’ greatest passion was spending time with her family and being a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved cooking, humming birds, shopping, playing basketball when she was younger and cheering on the Seattle Mariners.

Our beloved sweet Kirk Hamilton Allen, 18, of Sammamish, went to the Lord on Jan. 27, 2013.

He is survived by mother Gretchen Allen and brother Bryant Allen, of Sammamish; father John Allen of Richland; aunt Wendy Allen, of Danville, Calif.; and Mark Christian and family, of Sacramento.

Kirk was loved by many, including nieces, nephews, friends, close-confidant mentor Al Gasak and our little Dachshund Duke.

Kirk graduated from Eastlake High School in 2012 and most recently worked at Costco Warehouse, Issaquah, alongside his brother Bryant. He enjoyed playing football, downhill biking, snow boarding, fly-fishing, video gaming and working out at the gym. His passions were staying fit and writing music lyrics.
