Downtown Issaquah Association announces 2015 board of directors

The Downtown Issaquah Association has chosen its 2015 board of directors, including new members Jamie Lilly and Robyn Barfoot.

Lilly, director of marketing for the Village Theatre, has increased subscribers and attendance there. She is an active member with the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the ambassador’s committee and tourism advisory committee. She is passionate about music and arts, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in music from Whitman College.

Barfoot, former general curator of Cougar Mountain Zoo and now a zoo and wildlife consultant brings more than a decade of work collaborating with the local media and business community. She also is on the Tourism Advisory Board for Issaquah.

ArtWalk returns June 6 to downtown

Who says 13 is unlucky?

The Downtown Issaquah Association’s annual ArtWalk returns June 6 for its 13th season, after having successfully transformed the city’s main corridor into the Eastside’s premier arts destination.

The Downtown Issaquah Wine Walk, hosted by the Downtown Issaquah Association, is from 6-9 p.m. May 2.

Enjoy live music, art displays and demonstrations, snacks and local boutique wines poured in various tasting locations on Front Street. The shops and restaurants are open to the general public during Wine Walk and all ages are welcome.

Tickets for the wine walk, for adults only, are $25 in advance or $30 at the event and include 10 one-ounce drink tokens. Bring your own glass. Check-in is at 6 p.m. at Hailstone Feed Store, 323 Front St. N.

Downtown Issaquah Wine Walk is a first Friday evening event that is fun and supports the community. Enjoy live music, art displays and demonstrations, snacks and local boutique wines poured in various tasting locations up and down Front Street. The shops and restaurants there are open to the general public during Wine Walk and all ages are welcome.

ArtWalk season continues Aug. 2

The 12th annual season of Issaquah ArtWalk continues from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 2.

ArtWalk is the first Friday of the month June through September. Visitors are invited to meet local business owners, enjoy live music, watch artists in action, shop and dine in downtown Issaquah.

This ArtWalk includes the opening of the Rookery art exhibition and artwork from summer teen camps at artEAST Art Center. Kids can enjoy animal-themed arts projects when Menagerie takes over in artEAST Artist Alley. Enjoy clay making at Museo Art Academy and printmaking in the park, compliments of Museo. Witness glassblowing at its finest by artbyfire. There will be dancing in the streets at artEAST Artist Alley when Blue Dog Dance in Renton brings its dance troupe to showcase some hip-hop talent.
