Philharmonic debuts new conductor at holiday concert

The Issaquah Philharmonic and its new conductor Chase Chang hope to make sweet music together.

After serving as the interim conductor for a trial period in the summer performance, Chang will have the first official chance to bring his leadership to the community during a Nov. 25 concert. Both he and Philharmonic President Kathy Landreth are excited to offer the free program and to introduce the new permanent conductor to the public.

Orchestra seeks new musicians

The Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra and new conductor Chase Chang invite volunteer musicians, including advanced youths, to join the group as it prepares for its first concert of the season. Strings, percussion and harp are especially needed, as well as substitutes for every section. Rehearsals are from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Mondays starting Sept. 9 at Providence Point. Call Vera Risdon at 298-0930.
