Cinebarre to show movie starring Issaquah actress for fundraiser for BLMS student

NEW — 3 p.m. July 4, 2015

Strong4Sam Foundation presents an exclusive screening of “The Adventures of Pepper and Paula” at the Issaquah Cinebarre.

Issaquah actress and star of the film Mindy Raymond, as Paula, will be at the screening. The fundraiser is $15 per ticket and starts at 1 p.m. July 6. In addition, signed copies will be raffled and a limited number of Strong4Sam T-shirts and bracelets will be sold.

All proceeds benefit the Strong4Sam Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating community awareness and raising funds for innovative research to discover more effective and less toxic therapies for pediatric cancer. It was named for a Beaver Lake Middle School student who is battling a brain tumor.

Off The Press — Influence the Choice videos amaze, inspire

There were 11 winners, but if you ask me, everyone who entered the 2015 Influence The Choice Student Video Contest were winners.

In this year’s contest, from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 260 students participated in producing 100 videos. Those entries represented 959 creating hours!

Remodel planned for dining, movie theater

The opening of the new Regal Issaquah Highlands 12 theater will lead to a closing, remodeling and renaming of the Pickering Place location.

According to applications filed with the city Development Services Department, the Regal Issaquah 9 Theatres will be remodeled into a Cinebarre.

“Cinebarre did submit an application a few weeks back,” Issaquah Project Oversight Manager Christopher Wright said last week about the location. “Plan reviewer comments are due at the end of this week and I would say that they are two to four weeks out from getting their tenant improvement building permit.”
