Two candidates are vying for King County’s District 9 County Council seat in this election.
Incumbent Reagan Dunn faces Shari Song for the large district that encompasses Newcastle and areas south and southwest of Issaquah.
While the position remains nonpartisan, last year Dunn lost a bid for Washington Secretary of State, running under the Republican banner. Meanwhile, Song has received an endorsement from the King County Democrats and a number of campaign contributions from Democratic groups.
“King County wants to be this massive regional government,” Dunn said. “We’re not focusing on our constituents like we should.”
