Group seeks to bring back flower baskets
February 19, 2013
The Downtown Issaquah Association wants to bring hanging flower baskets back to downtown, and is asking for your help.
Budget constraints in the past few years have meant the city hasn’t been able to fund the baskets along Front Street.

Greg Spranger installs a banner on a Front Street lamppost in 2002 to complement the hanging flower baskets at the Mercantile Building. The city discontinued the baskets in recent years due to budget cuts. The Downtown Issaquah Association is seeking community support to bring them back.

“These beautiful baskets have been a delightful addition to our downtown throughout the years,” DIA Executive Director Karen Donovan said in a press release. “Many individuals and merchants want them back.”
