Wine Walk series continues April 3

NEW — 6 a.m. April 2, 2015

The fourth annual Downtown Issaquah Association Wine Walk series continues April 3.

The DIA’s first Friday event is from 6-9 p.m. and, in addition to samples of regional vintners, features live music, art exhibits and demonstrations, and snacks, all within easy walking distance along Front Street.

The venues this month participating are artbyfire Glass Blowing Studio, Illuminate, artEAST Art Center,  First Stage Theatre, Pelage Spa, Fischer Meats, So There, Coho Computer, Run Pretty Far, Uphill Running and Uswirl.

Volunteers sought for holiday light-hanging party Nov. 22

Help light up downtown and some key spots around downtown (and get a free lunch) at the annual holiday light-hanging party beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 22.

The event, sponsored by the Downtown Issaquah Association, starts at the Hailstone Feed Store, 232 Front St. N.

DIA qualifies for tax program

The Downtown Issaquah Association has qualified to join The Main Street Tax Incentive Program through the Washington State Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation.

The Main Street Tax Incentive credit program provides a business and occupancy or public utility tax credit to businesses that contribute to the Downtown Issaquah Association.

In 2005, legislation was passed creating a state B&O Tax Credit Incentive Program for businesses investing in local downtown revitalization programs. A tax credit equal to 75 percent of a charitable contribution can be claimed in the calendar year following the contribution. By redirecting B&O taxes to the Issaquah Main Street Program, a contribution invests directly in the health and vitality of Issaquah’s downtown.
