Village Theatre recently announced its productions for the 2015-16 season.
The lineup includes “Snapshots,” a new musical scrapbook featuring the music of Stephen Schwartz, creator of “Wicked”; “My Fair Lady,” the glamorous Lerner-Loewe musical classic; “Crimes of the Heart,” a southern, gothic comedy; “My Heart Is the Drum,” a spirited, new coming-of-age musical set in Ghana; and “Billy Elliot,” the smash Broadway hit with music by Elton John.

More than 70 Beaver Lake Middle School students will perform the Disney classic “Aladdin” during three performances at the school March 20-21.

Between its Golden Globe-winning turn on the silver screen and its 13-year run on Broadway, the story of “Beauty and the Beast” is familiar to audiences around the world.
That’s the challenge for the Issaquah High School performing arts department when it brings the musical version of “Beauty and the Beast” to the stage five times in four days this week.

Village Theatre knows spectacle.
Once again, the Issaquah company has unveiled a visually stunning production in its latest musical, “Mary Poppins.” Every aspect proved to be a feast for the eyes and ears, as Village Theatre spared no expense to bring the magic of the Disney production to the stage.
Installation of a flight system to help a nanny fly? Check. Countless, colorful costume changes? Check. Magical props that prove to have a life of their own? Check. Impressive choreography helping bring memorable Disney classic songs to life? Check.

Village Theatre continues its passion for creating art with a 2014-2015 season that includes the Bob Fosse classic “Cabaret,” the Disney family favorite “Mary Poppins,” the contemporary Broadway hit “In the Heights,” brand new musical comedy thriller “No Way to Treat a Lady” and a straight play based on the Jules Verne book “Around the World in 80 Days.”
Village Theatre’s own Steve Tomkins will direct “Mary Poppins” and “No Way to Treat a Lady.” The theater will welcome Eric Ankrim (director) and Daniel Cruz (choreographer) for “In the Heights.”
Earlier start times (7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evenings) launched last season will continue, and four- and three-show subscription packages will be available for purchase just before and just after the holiday season.
