The Drug Free Community Coalition, in partnership with seven community organizations, presents the Legal Marijuana and Our Teens forum at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Sammamish City Hall Council Chambers, 801 228th Ave. S.E., Sammamish.
The program begins with an open house and presentation of the video “Marijuana and Teens,” produced by Mercer Island Communities That Care. At 7 p.m., a panel of Sammamish-area teens will start the forum with comments about the video and about marijuana legalization.
A Q&A follows at about 7:30 p.m.

A celebration of life for beloved Issaquah art and youth advocate Vicki Hoffman is scheduled for 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at Redmond’s Timberlake Church, 4505 236th Ave. N.E.
The family will receive friends at Flintoft’s Funeral Home from 4 -7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at 540 E. Sunset Way, Issaquah.
Hoffman, a tireless advocate for art in schools, as well as a board member on the Issaquah Community Network and the Issaquah School District PTSA Council, passed away Oct. 12, after suffering a brain aneurysm Oct. 10, according to a slew of emails from Hoffman’s friends and colleagues.
An active parent in the Issaquah School District, Hoffman once served as the Clark Elementary School PTSA president, and is largely responsible for reviving the district’s volunteer art docent program.

A winner was announced April 2 for the “Influence the Choice” video contest, led by the Issaquah Community Network and Drug Free Community Coalition.
Issaquah High School student Hannah Balducci won the grand prize of $800 for her submission of a two-minute video that tried to influence friends and other teenagers to resist using alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs.
