Car show, Make Music Day are both June 21

Sometimes, the stars align to bring together two things to make one memorable union, from love-struck youths Romeo and Juliet to food pairings surf and turf.

Issaquah residents will be the beneficiary of a quirk of the calendar, when two of the Downtown Issaquah Association’s biggest events of the year fall on the same day.

The car show Fenders on Front Street is always on Father’s Day, which just so happens to fall on June 21, the same date for the annual Music Day.

Celebrate Father’s Day at Fenders on Front Street

NEW — 6 a.m. June 1, 2015

Fenders on Front Street Car Show & Cruise, a Father’s Day tradition, returns June 21.

The free all-day event culminates with a cruise of classic cars. Starting at 3 p.m., car show participants will gather along Front Street North and cruise along West Sunset Way to Newport Way Northwest to Gilman Boulevard.

See hundreds of classic and vintage cars as you stroll down Front Street. Listen to classic tunes and see live music at several locations. End the afternoon with a barbecue at Confluence Park.

Registration opens for Fenders on Front Street

The Downtown Issaquah Association has opened free registration to its ninth annual Fenders on Front Street Car Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15, Father’s Day.

The show attracts car owners from across the state showing off their classic cars. There will be live music by the Kaleidoscope School of Music, family activities, and a trophy and awards ceremony with master of ceremonies Lance Lambert. Vinyl Radio will broadcast classic tunes all day with Jeff Shade, the host of the syndicated show “Talk About Cars.” The afternoon will culminate in a cruise to the Triple XXX Rootbeer Drive-In.
