A flurry of emails, a number of meetings, accusations of drug use and some hard feelings have arisen in the wake of a move to keep people from eating free meals outside the Issaquah Community Hall.
Some say the move is an obvious attempt to keep the city’s homeless and underprivileged out of sight.

Faith United Methodist Church will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 to consider the possibility of welcoming Tent City 4 onto its grounds
The traveling homeless shelter applied for a permit to stay at the church, at 3924 Issaquah-Pine Lake Road, asking to move there March 1. Pastor John Brewer said the meeting will aim to answer questions about hosting Tent City 4 and hear residents’ opinions.

Public meeting is set for Oct. 11
Tent City 4 might move to Sammamish.
Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church will hold a public meeting Oct. 11 to provide information and gather input from the community about possibly hosting the homeless encampment, which provides meals and overnight shelter.
After the meeting, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at the church social hall at 1121 228th Ave. S.E. in Sammamish, the pastoral council will meet and likely develop a recommendation for the Rev. Kevin Duggan.
Rich Shively, pastoral administrator, said Duggan will have the final decision and will likely make his announcement the weekend of Oct. 12-13.
