A 56-year-old Issaquah man shot an intruder breaking into his home May 3.

In the 18500 block of Northwest Montreux Drive, the as-yet unidentified homeowner heard someone ringing his doorbell just before 1 p.m. After failing to recognize the man who appeared to be in his mid-20s who was outside his door, the homeowner ignored it. A few moments later, the suspect threw an object through a glass front door and entered the home.

The homeowner responded to the sound and the two men struggled. The homeowner fired two shots from his handgun, striking the suspect once in the shoulder.
