Homework study nears completion

There’s no consensus about whether homework policies at individual schools in the Issaquah School District are too strict or too lenient, said Sara Niegowski, executive director of communications for the district.

Niegowski, along with Associate Superintendent Ron Thiele, updated the school board June 5 about a homework study the district has worked on for the past year with various parent-teacher-student groups.

The issue came about after some parents complained to the district that their children had too much homework, and it was causing them too much stress for limited benefit.
