The Skyline and Liberty high school boys track teams head to the state championship meet this week as district champions.
Skyline captured the 4A Bi-District meet title May 22 and Liberty took the 3A Sea-King District championship May 21 at the Southwest Complex in West Seattle.

Liberty High School’s Peter Stacy captured the boys javelin title Wednesday at the 3A Sea-King District Track and Field Championships at the Southwest Complex.
Stacy finished first with a throw of 179 feet, 5 inches.
Liberty’s Devin Bennett placed second in the boys triple jump and Eric Bice was third in the 1,600.
In the girls’ competition, Emily Pest-Dimmitt was fourth in the high jump.

Issaquah falls back to fifth place, Liberty second in 3A meet
The Skyline boys track team is 2010 KingCo 4A champs after scoring 127 points in the league meet May 12 and 14 at Eastlake High School. The Issaquah boys placed fifth overall with 63.5 points.

Skyline High School junior Kasen Williams, one of the best all-around athletes in the state, captured two titles Wednesday in the first day of the 4A KIngCo Conference track and field championships at Eastlake.
Williams won the boys high jump by clearing 6 feet, 10 inches. He also captured the long jump by leaping 23-10.50.
Sparked by Williams’ efforts and those of his teammates, Skyline was in first place after the first day with 48 points. Bothell was second with 37.5 points.
Skyline took the top three places in the high jump with Blake Digiovanni finishing second and Jordon Coutts third.

The sun was shining brightly and the temperature was in the 50s. It was a perfect day for a KingCo Conference high-school track and field meet.
The Liberty boys and Skyline girls teams were thinking perfection, too. Both were aiming for unbeaten regular-season meet records. Both attained their goal May 6 by finishing first in the annual Issaquah District meet at Liberty.

The Liberty High School boys and the Skyline High School girls track teams each placed first Thursday in the annual Issaquah School District track and field meet at Liberty.
The Liberty boys won a close meet with rivals Skyline and Issaquah. The Patriots had 65 points with Skyline second with 61 and Issaquah third with 55. Liberty finished the KingCo Conference regular season unbeaten.
In the girls meet, Skyline won easily, compiling 91 points. Issaquah was second with 49 points and Liberty third with 39.
Peter Stacy, of Liberty, won the shot put, discus and javelin in the boys meet. He won the shot and discus easily. The javelin was a battle between Stacy and Issaquah’s Michael Baba. Stacy was first with a throw of 175 feet, 1 inch. Baba was second at 174-6.

Issaquah, Liberty and Skyline high school track and field teams get their final tune-up before the KingCo Conference Championships when the three schools meet May 6 in their annual district meet at 4 p.m. at Liberty High School.
The Issaquah district meet always displays some of the top athletes in the league and the state. This year’s meet will be no exception. One of the headliners is Skyline’s Kasen Williams, who won the high jump at last year’s 4A state meet.
Another headliner is Issaquah’s Eva Perry, who has twice broken the school record in the girls pole vault this spring.
Liberty’s Eric Bice, one of the area’s top distance runners, is the school record-holder in the 1,600.
The boys’ teams for Issaquah and Skyline are 6-0 in KingCo meets this spring. The Skyline girls are 6-0.

The Issaquah High School girls and boys track teams both defeated visiting Newport on Thursday in a KingCo Conference meet.
The Issaquah boys won 88-57. Kyle Farmer won the 100 and 200 meters for Issaquah. He also ran on the Eagles’ winning 400 relay. Other Issaquah first places came from Chris Brasino in the 800, Isaac Robinson in the 1,600, Turner Wiley in the 3,200, Alexander Farmer in the 110 hurdles and Jeremiah Odom in the pole vault.
The Issaquah girls defeated Newport 91-59. Haley Jacobson won the 100 and 200. She also ran on the Eagles’ winning 400 and 800 relays. Other Issaquah first places came from Nicole Migotsky in the 800, Jocelyn Eng in the 3,200, Lauren Bruner in the 300 hurdles, Kelley Chen in the javelin and Eva Perry in the pole vault. Perry went 11 feet, 5 inches to break the school record she set last week.

Liberty boys return the favor
The Issaquah High School girls track team had a record-setting performance from pole vaulter Eva Perry April 22 as the Eagles defeated Liberty 94-52 in a KingCo Conference meet at Issaquah. The boys meet was won by Liberty as the Patriots nipped Issaquah 73-72.

Kasen Williams won two events April 17 as he led the Skyline High School boys track and field team to first place in the Eason Invitational at Snohomish.
Skyline finished with 54 points to beat out Federal Way for the top spot. Federal Way had 46 points. Issaquah finished 17th with 18 points and Liberty was 18th with 16 points.
Williams won the high jump, soaring 6 feet, 8 inches. He captured the triple jump, going 47-8. Williams also placed second in the long jump, going 22-1, and ran as a member of the Spartans’ 1,600 relay team that finished second in 3:23.10. Alex Lee, Dustin Bratten and Drew Matthews were other members of the relay team.
The Spartans had some other top efforts, too. Bratten finished third in the 100 and fourth in the 200. Matthews was fifth in the 400 and Kyle Branch was sixth in the 3,200.
