Patriots make history, win district playoff basketball game

The 2014-2015 Liberty High School boys basketball team did something Feb. 14 that no past Patriots squad has ever done.

Liberty won a district playoff game for the first time in the boys’ program history, and thus, kept the dream of a state playoff berth alive.

Patriots prepare for postseason

As the 2015 winter high-school postseason begins, most Liberty High School sports teams are finding that everything is just a little bit different this year.

The Patriots are now playing at the 2A level for at least the next two years. Liberty previously played at 3A, opting up a classification, despite the school’s size.

Demps twins lead in 63-52 victory over Lake Washington

The 2014-2015 Liberty High School girls basketball team has many strengths.

Liberty High School hires new girls basketball coach

Carly Fromdahl has been tapped as Liberty High School’s new girls basketball coach, replacing Curtis Terry.

Fromdahl was an assistant on Terry’s staff last year, helping lead a team that was one of the best in the KingCo 2A/3A Conference.

Patriots fall to top-ranked Cleveland, 48-35

If anyone had any questions about the Liberty High School girls basketball team’s season goal, they need only to look at the players’ forearms as they stepped on the Bellevue College court for a March 1 loser-out, winner-to-state game.

Scrawled in black, capital letters was the acronym DIFD — Do it for the Dome, the Tacoma Dome, that is.

The Patriots’ road to the state tournament, held at the Tacoma Dome, came to an end March 1, after a 48-35 loss to top-ranked Cleveland.

Liberty girls advance to basketball regionals

The Liberty High School girls basketball team isn’t ready to head home just yet.

The Patriots’ season will continue after a Feb. 22 double-overtime win against Holy Names earned them a spot in the 16-team regional tournament.
