Police: Lovers robbery suspect hit Issaquah, Redmond stores

Issaquah police arrested a 42-year-old Issaquah man Sept. 25 for armed robberies at Lovers adult novelty stores in Issaquah and Redmond after a telltale cellphone ring led officers to the suspect.

Police arrested Juan G. Martinez-Casillas, a.k.a. Marco Antonio Suarez-Perez, at the Park Hill at Issaquah apartment complex, about 600 feet from Lovers.

Investigators said Martinez-Casillas robbed the local Lovers, 5614 E. Lake Sammamish Parkway S.E., at gunpoint at about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 20. Then, at about 11:25 a.m. Sept. 25, police said he robbed the Redmond store at gunpoint. In each case, police said Martinez-Casillas demanded for the lone female employee in the stores to partially disrobe.

Days after a masked man robbed Lovers at gunpoint, Issaquah police arrested a 42-year-old Issaquah man in the case Tuesday.

Investigators tracked leads in the case to the area near the adult novelty store, to a nearby apartment. Police then searched the suspect’s vehicle, and discovered a handgun and cash inside the car.

The suspect is in custody at the King County Jail for first-degree armed robbery.

Officers responded to the store in the 5600 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast at 11:28 a.m. Sept. 20. Police searched the area, but could not locate the thief.

Police said a masked man approached a store employee moments earlier, brandished a gun and demanded money.

Masked man robs Lovers at gunpoint

Issaquah police responded to a wham-bam robbery at Lovers, a local outpost in a chain of adult novelty stores, after a masked man stole cash from the business at gunpoint.

Officers responded to the store in the 5600 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast at 11:28 a.m. Sept. 20. Police searched the area, but could not locate the thief.

Man robs Lovers adult novelty store at gunpoint

Lovers, a local outpost in a chain of adult novelty stores, turned into a target for armed robbery Thursday, after a mask-wearing man stole cash from the business at gunpoint.

Officers responded to the store in the 5600 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast at 11:28 a.m. Police searched the area, but could not locate the thief.

Issaquah police said the man approached a store employee moments earlier, brandished a gun and demanded money.

Investigators described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and with a medium build. He wore a red coat with a hood, dark pants, a dark-colored baseball cap and sunglasses. The suspect used a mask of red fabric to conceal the lower portion of his face.

Man arrested in Snohomish County likely connected to Issaquah heists

UPDATED — 3:35 p.m. Aug. 5, 2009

A man believed to be connected to July robberies at Emerald City Sun Tanning Center and Lovers’ was arrested in Snohomish County Sunday. Issaquah Deputy Police Chief Steve Cozart said today the man was likely involved in the Issaquah heists.

“We believe he is responsible for both the Lovers’ and Emerald City Tanning Center robberies,” Cozart said.

Everett Police arrested the 24-year-old Lake Stevens man Sunday. Cozart said Snohomish County authorities would likely file charges against the man today. Cozart said the suspect’s name would be released after charges are filed.

Cozart said Issaquah investigators would wrap up their cases and file charges with the King County Prosecutor’s Office.
