Participate in Do Something Great drive

Macaroni Kid is promoting the annual Do Something Great drive to get people involved in their community.

The organization is sponsoring:

Sept. 18: Bounce to Benefit Animals, 4-6 p.m., Kidz Bounce, 8178 304th Ave S.E., Issaquah. A percent of proceeds will go to the Seattle Humane Society. Families are encouraged to donate needed items. Children can also visit the MaxMobile, an adoption bus filled with adoptable animals.

Macaroni Kid hosts ‘I have a dream’ pajama party Jan. 20

Macaroni Kid invites parents and children to bounce and dream for a good cause at a special Jan. 20 event.

Families can celebrate their Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with a trip to KidzBounce for Macaroni Kids’ “I have a dream” pajama party benefitting pediatric cancer research.

Children can expect to bounce around on inflatable toys, play with Legos, receive art instruction, capture memories in a photo booth, and munch on provided snacks and pizza.

Swap kids’ Halloween costumes

A trio of local businesses are partnering with Macaroni Kid to celebrate National Costume Swap Day on Oct. 12.

Families are encouraged to bring gently used children’s costumes to Gilman Village businesses Small Threads for Kids or CleanScapes Store between now and Oct. 11.

In exchange, families will receive a swap ticket to be used from 8-10 a.m. Oct. 12 at Small Threads for Kids. There, children can peruse the selection for a different costume.

Macaroni Kid celebrates fourth anniversary

Started in April 2009, Macaroni Kid provides families in the Snoqualmie Valley, Issaquah and Sammamish areas a comprehensive listing of family-friendly events and activities to entertain, stimulate and exhaust their kids, according to a press release from Macaroni Kid.

Four years ago, Diana Reul-Shapiro, of Snoqualmie, was looking for activities to keep her kids busy when she had the idea to assist local parents doing the same thing. Today, another mom, Dana Verhoff, of Fall City, helps her.
