Physical therapist Mark Bromberg offers a workshop for patients with multiple sclerosis at 9:30 a.m. June 11 at Swedish/Issaquah, 751 N.E. Blakely Drive.

Bromberg, who operates Snoqualmie Physical Therapy, will offer solutions for the challenges of balance and gait that hinder the everyday activities of patients with multiple sclerosis.

He also will provide simple exercises to offset the impact of the neurological condition to members of the No Whiners MS Support Group.

Local psychologist to address MS support group

Clinical psychologist Dr. Maria Elena Lara will be the guest speaker at the March 12 meeting of the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group.

Lara will discuss how people living with degenerative neurological diseases can still lead full, rewarding lives at the 9:30 a.m. meeting at Swedish/Issaquah, 751 N.E. Blakely Drive.

It’s a philosophy that will likely resonate with the support group members that have nicknamed themselves the “No Whiners.”

Theresa Baker, of the Baker Insurance Group, hosts the first of several interactive informational sessions on the Affordable Care Act “What You Need to Know” at 6:30 p.m. Oct 8 at the Spiritwood at Pine Lake retirement community, 228th Ave. S.E.

Baker also will share insights about the new regulations with patients affected by multiple sclerosis at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at Swedish/Issaquah, 751 N.E. Blakely Drive.

The 25-year insurance professional is also scheduled to speak at Spiritwood again Nov. 5.

“ObamaCare is coming,” she said. “The only way to be prepared for the change is to be educated on how the law will affect you and your family.”
