May 8, 2014

NEW — 6 a.m. May 8, 2014

Join Issaquah police officers in showing your support for National Police Week May 11-17 by displaying a free blue ribbon on your vehicle’s antenna.

The ribbons honor the law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as the men and women who serve and protect the community every day.

The Issaquah Police Department will give away free blue ribbons from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through May 16, or while supplies last, at its front counter, 130 E. Sunset Way.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the calendar week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week.
