A late Labor Day means school starts Sept. 1 this year.
After dropping the kids off at school, you might feel the urge to kick back, relax and enjoy some “me” time. You deserve it after a long summer keeping the young ones entertained.

The Issaquah School District honored Kelly Munn with its Community Leadership Award at the Washington School Administrator Association’s regional awards ceremony held at the Puget Sound ESD on May 23.
Munn has been an active volunteer in the Issaquah School District and an advocate for public education for many years. Her leadership has been instrumental in helping the district maintain high quality programs and meet the demands of continued growth as co-chair of the Volunteers for Issaquah Schools Community Bond and Levy Committee, according to a news release.

Local students got a nearly $35,000 helping hand March 13 when the Issaquah School Board approved several donations to the district.
The Beaver Lake Middle School PTSA donated $9,366 to help staff members buy iPads, books, a pulse oximeter, microphones, chess games and an algebra set.

The 2014 special election season may be far off most people’s radar screens, but not the Issaquah School District’s.
A plan for the 2014 Levy Development Committee was laid out Feb. 13 during the regular school board meeting. The purpose of the committee, according to its charter, is to advise the superintendent as he prepares a recommendation for the school board to approve levy issues for either the February or April 2014 ballot.
