So, you think we’re having a dry summer? Yes, you would be right, and it’s not even August yet. But let me share a personal story of what it’s like to be under the other shoe when it drops.
It’s the summer of 1986, and after four years of dating and a three-year engagement, my wife is finally ready to set a date for marriage.

Rajat Kala, 29, of Seattle, was killed April 20 when his car, traveling west on Interstate 90, left the roadway and landed on its top, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident occurred at 8:37 a.m. near milepost 22, east of Issaquah, according to a press memo from the patrol. Kala’s car, a silver 2001 Toyota Celica, left the highway and landed at the intersection of Southeast Highpoint Way and Southeast 79th Street.
Kala, alone in the car, had been wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
