Senior Services seeks volunteers for Meals on Wheels program

Senior Services is looking for volunteers for its Meals on Wheels program in Issaquah. The program helps homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact and caring service.

The Meals on Wheels program needs volunteers in the following positions:

  • Volunteer site coordinators
  • Delivery drivers
  • Callers/office support
  • Packers

Kathy Torgerson nominated for Inspire Positive Aging Award

July 22, 2014

Kathy Torgerson, of Issaquah, was one of 15 King County residents nominated for Senior Services’ Inspire Positive Aging Award.

While the award went to McCoy Khammany Sengsi, of West Seattle, Torgerson was honored for her nearly 30 years as volunteer Meals on Wheels coordinator at the Issaquah Senior Center.

Volunteer drivers needed to support local seniors

September 24, 2013

Senior Services’ Volunteer Transportation program is seeking drivers to shuttle local seniors to medical appointments.

Volunteers pick up seniors at their home, drive them to the doctor and take them back immediately afterward. Many older adults are currently unable to get rides though, because there are not enough volunteers to serve their needs.
